History

Alberta’s ambient air quality data warehouse, formerly known as the CASA Data Warehouse, was designed, developed and became operational in September of 1997. The data warehouse was created in response to the Clean Air Strategic Alliance (CASA) 1995 strategic plan which recommended a central repository for ambient air and ecological data to provide a vehicle for dissemination of information to a wide range of stakeholders. Thus Alberta’s first web-based air quality data management system was born and made available to the public.
